Educational Offer and Credit Structure (CFU)

The overall workload amounts to 180 university credits (CFU), evenly distributed over the three years of the program (60 CFU per year).

Specifically, the credits are allocated as follows:

  • Courses (12 CFU);
  • IT skills development (seminars, laboratory and research activities, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary training) (3 CFU);
  • Language skills development (seminars, laboratory and research activities, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary training) (4 CFU);
  • Research management and knowledge of European and international research systems (seminars, laboratory and research activities, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary training) (9 CFU);
  • Exploitation and dissemination of research results, intellectual property, and open access to research data and outputs (seminars, laboratory and research activities, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary training) (30 CFU);
  • Other educational activities (seminars, laboratory and research activities, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary training) (122 CFU).

Legend for the allocation of credits related to other educational activities:

  • Training and research activities to be reported in the progress report for admission to the second year (40 CFU);
  • Training and research activities to be reported in the progress report for admission to the third year (40 CFU);
  • Thesis tutoring activities, research periods abroad, or other activities chosen by the PhD candidate consistent with the selected curriculum (12 CFU);
  • Publication in national and/or international impact journals (10 CFU);
  • Thesis writing (20 CFU).
